Early days of sketching with pencil, charcoal and ink evolved to include more color and other mediums. Through the encouragement of friends and family, Baxley decided to start sharing her work with the public.

Appreciation for the human form is present in much of her work, and she enjoys a traditional figure study, but with an interesting twist.  Often inspired by her environment, she  reinterprets those elements into her work through blending colors, texture and the use of interesting marks and strong shapes. She believes every inch of the canvas should be interesting to look at.

Her techniques are constantly evolving. She experiments with new materials and painting styles often, and would never put her style in a box. She starts her work with a single concept and allows the piece to show her what it wants to become.

Baxley is an Atlanta native, and she lives there with her husband and two sons.
